In October we will carry out the ELEPA IV, fourth meeting of landscape students of Latin America. We will meet on Wednesday 26 early in the morning at the base of Cerro Ancón.

This meeting aims to strengthen horizontal links between students and emerging professionals, share experiences between them in a fellowship environment.

​

Aims of ELEPA IV Workshop

 

a-Map the landscape unit of Cerro Ancon, taking into account the perception of the site and the influence within the territory of Panama City.

b-Propose guidelines for preservation, encouraging citizen participation in decision-making.

Specific Workshop Task

​

Groups of 5 to 7 participants will be integrated to achieve the objetives, at Cerro Ancón. At the arrival in the base of the hill the groups will be defined, and after the distribution of materials and having clear the work objectives, we will go to the top of the hill.

​

Groups can take the time they consider necessary for the journey. Once in the top, we will gather to continue with the objetives of the workshop. Depending on the number of students, we will form work groups to discuss about Cerro Ancon territory., For these activities we will have the company of qualified local informants.

Work Exhibition

​

The work will be displayed on Thursday October 27, in the conference room hall, where a small presentation during the break and midday will take place. The summary presentation of the whole activity will be presented in the afternoon.

ELEPA

IFLA STUDENT AND EMERGING PROFESSIONALS COUNCIL

Background

 

In 2011 in Punta del Este, Uruguay,  the First Latin American Meeting of Landscape Students (ELEPA). In some way, the main goal proposed in IFLA Americas meeting in Santiago the Chile in 2011, was achieved. It was there where a group of students from Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, in an informal meeting, planed to meet the following year, taking advantage of the sinergy of the annual IFLA Americas Region Conference, under the motto: "Vision and projection of Latin American Landscape".

The second meeting took place in Medellin, Colobia in 2012, with the theme: "Boundaries: Landscapes under alert".

​

Third edition occurred in La Paz, Bolivia in 2015, with the theme "Land-Art- Contemporary Apacheta", within the conference's topic "Science and Conscience of Landscape".

​

Fourth edition will be held in Panama City, Panama; as part of the paralel events of the Conference.

​
