CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS

 

We invite new and challenging paper submissions from any area or discipline of design and research, from wide points of view, and especially interdisciplinary perspectives responding to the conference themes.

 

IFLA-AR | URBIO2016 embraces research and practice that is key to advancing important ideas in nature-based solutions, environmental knowledge and design that serves both society and the environment. We solicit papers on sustainability, resilience, beauty, justice, and livability and particularly encourage interdisciplinary research and practices.

 

The Call for Abstracts is open to all professionals and researchers. Advanced university students in studies related to the conference themes are invited. There will be special sessions for research papers and posters.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

Abstracts must be submitted in a MS-Word document, in English or Spanish, in single-space, Arial 12 font. The official language of the Congress is English, with a simultaneous Spanish-English/English-Spanish translation for keynote and plenary sessions. Most concurrent session will be in English, although some may be in Spanish.

 

PAPERS

 

Abstracts for research projects should focus on results and their significance, with reference to methods when appropriate. Abstracts for design projects should focus on context, meaning and, when appropriate, measures of success.

 

All submissions will be peer reviewed. Notice of acceptance will be sent to you no later than 20th July 2016, at the latest. Note that presenters must be registered for the conference.

 

The format of each submission should be as follows:

 

• Title of the paper

• Author(s)

• Institution or affiliation of each author

• Email address of the corresponding author

• Physical address of the corresponding author

• Indicate whether it is a student paper, and the name of the program

• Indicate which main congress themes the abstract relates to

• Indicate whether the submission is an oral paper or poster

• Abstract of no more than 500 words

 

A maximum of 5 papers (lead plus so-authored) per author will be received.

 

 

POSTERS

 

We invite Posters on any of the conferences themes. Posters provide an opportunity for an informal presentation featuring “give and take” with conference attendees. Presenting a poster is also a good way in which to discuss and receive feedback on a work in progress that has not been fully developed into a paper.

 

All submissions will be peer reviewed. Notice of acceptance will be sent to you no laterr than 20th July 2016, at the latest. Note that presenters of posters must be registered for the conference.

 

If your proposal is accepted, your poster will be displayed for a 2-hour time period during the conference. You will be expected to “present” your poster at that time. At least one author for each accepted poster must register for and attend the conference. The space available for your poster will be 3 feet high by 4 feet wide with a small shelf below. You must bring all printed materials with you. Power sources will not be available.

 

The format of each Poster submission should be as follows:

 

• Title of the paper

• Author(s)

• Institution or affiliation of each author

• Email address of the corresponding author

• Physical address of the corresponding author

• Indicate whether it is a student paper, and the name of the program

• Indicate which main congress themes the abstract relates to

• Abstract of no more than 300 words
